Earl Snedecor, 84, of 505 North Cochran Street, West Frankfort, passed away at 10:05 a.m., Thursday, October 30, 1997 at his residence. He was born January 26, 1913 in Eldorado, IL., the son of Charles and Lena (Yates) Snedecor. He married Martha (Sanders) Snedecor, September 28, 1935 in Eldorado. She survives.
Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Wilma Snedecor of Hammond, IN,; a granddaughter and her husband, Cindy and Jeff Jones of Highland, IN; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Brooke Jones of Highland, IN.; a brother and his wife, Charles and Lillie Snedecor f Ashly, IL.; four sisters, Mary Grothaus and Dorothy Maxwell, both of West Frankfort; Wilma Hale of Marion; and Esther and her husband, Bucky Bixler of Ashley, IL.
Mr. Snedecor was a member of South Point Church of God, Masonic LOdge #567 of West Frankfort and the West Frankfort Wit & Wisdom Center. He was a coal miner for 20 years and retired in 1975 from Simmons Bedding Company in Munster, IN. as a tool and die setter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a great grandson, Steven Jones and two brothers, Phillip and Kenneth.
