Geraldine (Payton) Talbert, age 77, of New Castle, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016, at Baptist Health, Louisville. She was the daughter of the late Ruby Ellen (Tanner) and Charles Payton, Jr.
She was a cook for Homestead Nursing Center for over 15 years. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Allen Threet, and two brothers, Otis Dale Clark and Edward Harold Payton.
She is survived by her husband, Bill E. Talbert of New Castle; one sister, Betty Eadens (Robert) of Lexington; one brother, Chester Thomas Payton of Pleasureville; and two grandsons, Richard Threet III and James Threet, both of Eminence.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Daniel Lowry of New Castle Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home.
Interment will be in New Castle Cemetery.
