LANSING - Mary Jane Mikula, 76, of Asbury Rd., Lansing, passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 15, 1933 in Waverly, NY, the daughter of Gertrude and Pearley Simons.
Mary Jane was retired from N.C.R. and Axhiom, where she had worked for over 40 years. She was a member of All Saints Church and an avid quilter.
A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mary Jane is survived by her husband of 49 years, Edward R. Mikula; her children, Gail Shaff, Michael (Patricia) Mikula, Edward (Melody) Aldrich, Mary (Gibran) Baida, Diane (Craig) Christopher and Theresa Norman; and her grandchildren, Nicholas (Beth) Shaff, Nathan (Chelse) Shaff, Scott Mikula, Crystal Bohland, Shannon (Adam) Bucherati, Amber (Michael) Boose, Tailor Aldrich, Samira (Billy) Reamer, Gabriel Baida, Paul (Rachel) Christopher, Karen (Calvin) Matthews and Shaun (Syretta) Norman; and her many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Lilly Newton, Eloise Card and Leona Henson. Mary Jane was predeceased by her parents, Pearley and Gertrude Simons; and her brothers, Leonard and Claude Simons.
A Mass of The Resurrection will be celebrated by Rev. Scott Kubinski on Saturday, August 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Church, Lansing. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church prior to the mass beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850. Arrangements are by the Bangs Funeral Home.
