Edward was predeceased by his devoted wife of 49 years, Mary Jane Mikula. He was also predeceased by his brothers Martin and John Mikula and his sister Pauline Werner. He is survived by two sisters, Anna Bowman of Ithaca and Barbara Kraft of Massachusetts, and a brother, Paul Mikula of Lansing. He is survived by his children, Gail Shaff, Michael (Patricia) Mikula, Edward (Melody) Aldrich, Mary (Gibran) Baida, Diane (Craig) Christopher, and Theresa Norman.
Edward served his country for 12 years in the United States Marine Corps, followed by a career in law enforcement. He was employed by the Tompkins County Sheriff's Department where he served as undersheriff until his retirement in 1996.
Calling hours will be at Bangs Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 16th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Rev. William Moorby on Thursday, February 17th at 12:00 PM at the All Saints Church, Lansing. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospicare, 172 E. King Rd. Ithaca, NY 14850. Arrangements are by the Bangs Funeral Home.
