OBITUARY:
SPENCER - Bertha (Swallow) Gleason, 87, of 17 Park St. died yesterday in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
She leaves two sons, Francis Scott of Spencer, and Calvin Swallow of Bloomington, Calif.; a daughter, Ruth Matte of Spencer; a brother, George Swallow of Gundy's Harbor, Brunswick, Maine; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was born in North Andover, daughter of George and Sarah (Morris) Swallow, and lived in Spencer many years. She attended Spencer schools. Mrs. Gleason worked as a stitcher for more than 40 years for various shoe companies in the Worcester area, retiring many years ago. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The family requests that flowers be omitted. O'Connor Brothers, 592 Park Ave., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
