Samuel Evan Taylor was born to Henry and Emily Deweese Taylor. He married Lola E. Martin, Jan. 5, 1946 in Pekin, Il.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Lowes "Lou" and Ivan, both of East Peoria; and six daughters, Mrs. Robert (Linda)Koetter of Pekin, Phyllis Taylor of Delavan, Mrs. Larry(Lola Esther) Cross, Havana and Darla Griffin, Manito,Il., and Emily Reece and Ruby Marie, adresses unknown.
Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren,one brother Raymond Taylor of Delavan, and one sister Mrs. Edgar (Anna) Stonecipher of Milltown, Ind. One grandchild and two brothers prededed him in death.

He was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Company for 221/2 years, retiring as an assembler. He was a member of the Delavan Baptist Church.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Davis Mortuary, Tremont. Rev. Randy Gauger officiated.
