Auguste, or "Dempsey" as he was nicknamed for his pluck, was born to French-Canadian immigrants, the 6th of 13 children. His family moved from Fall River to Boston around his 20th birthday, and he spent the rest of his life there, other than the time he spent in the Army during World War II.

He first worked for an optical company, then became a driver for Haffenreffer Brewery, and for a short time drove for Wise Potato Chips before settling as a postal worker, following in his father's footsteps.

He died suddenly in 1970, the fist adult child of David and Antoinette to pass away.
