Emily came to Orillia with her husband Alexander Begg in 1877, according to a budget report.
Died age 93.

The Orillia Packet, Aug 5, 1892- Mrs. Alexander Begg and family returned home on Monday from St. Louis, where they have been residing for the past six months. The were accompanied by Mr. A. L. W. Begg and Mr. Roderick Begg. The latter has been absent from Orillia for more than four years, and since his departure has become a prosperous merchant of Victoria, B.C.

The Orillia Packet, May 3, 1923- Mrs. A. Begg and her son, Mr. Roderick Begg, of New York, have been in town this week. It is their intention to have the old home on Neywash street fitted up, and Mrs. Begg will spend the summer here, with other members of the family. To this end they have purchased from Mr. W. Buchanan 15 feet off the back of his lot on the corner of West and Neywash streets, In order to make a driveway. Extensive improvements will also be made to the house.
