Frank C. Archer

Frank C. Archer, 73, of Broad St., Parkersburg, died Wednesday of an apparent heart attack.

He was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late Stephen and Clara Kraft Archer. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church for 50 years. H was retired from E.I. DuPont following 27 years of service and was a veteran, serving in the CCCs. He was employed as a security guard for the Nemesis Masonic Temple, was a member of Mount Olivet Lodge No. 3 AF&AM, was 32nd degree Scottish Rite, was a member of the Jerusalem Chapter and Calvary Commandry No. 3 of York Rite. He was a member of the Nemesis Shrine, the Marching Patrol, Ohio Valley Shrine Club, Ben Bay Grotto, Loyal Order of Moose and was an Alumnus of West Virginia University.

He is survived by one son, Michael S. Archer of Indianapolis, Ind.; three daughters, Sharon Jean Roberts, Linda Kay Morris Matheny and Beverly Sue Cumberledge, all of Parkersburg; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Norman Archer of Truth Or Consequence, N.M., and Allen Archer of Parkersburg; one sister, Louella Wharton of Vienna.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Archer, in 1987; and two brothers.

Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at the Ogin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen North Cemetery, with Masonic Rites conducted by Mount Olivet Masonic Lodge No. 3 AF&AM.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. today.
