A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Calvary United Church of Christ Cemetery by the Revs. James Peeler and Lee Pollock.
Mrs. Bowers was born in Davidson County on Nov. 24, 1923, to Jacob Darr and Hallie Conrad Darr and was a lifelong resident of Thomasville. She was a member of Calvary United Church of Christ, where she was a member of the church choir, the Marie Alexander Sunday School Class and the Lyerly Circle. She was formerly employed as a paralegal for Lambeth McMillan and Weldon. On Feb. 28, 1948, she was married to Willis M. "Will" Bowers, who died April 14, 1998. Also preceding her in death were a daughter, Kathryn B. "Kathy" Bridges, and a grandson, Justin C. Bridges.
Surviving are two grandsons, William C. Bridges and Stephen B. Bridges, both of Thomasville; two sisters, Helen Hoover and her husband, Ernest, and Dot Berrier and her husband, Dewey, all of Thomasville; a brother, Olin Darr and his wife, Geneva, of Thomasville; a son-in-law, Brent B. Bridges of Thomasville; and several nieces and nephews.
