MELROSE
At the Catholic church Tuesday morning occurred the marriage of Martin Ciska and Katherine Murray, Rev. Father Brownrigg officiating. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. P. Murray. The groom is a son of Mrs. M.D. Sullivan. Both are well known. The bride was attired in a beautiful costume of white silk and wore a veil of white silk. Miss Mayme Murray acted as bride’s maid and wore a blue costume. The groom wore the conventional black. Mat Griffin acted as grooms man. The young couple will begin house keeping at once. Their friends join in wishing them a long, happy and prosperous life's journey.

Martin F. Ciska*, 75, Dies Wednesday
Martin F. Ciska*, 75, died Wednesday afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Art McGrath, in Des Moines.
A retired Burlington Railroad employee, Mr. Ciska lived most of his life at Melrose.
The body is at Humeston Funeral Home here.
Survivors are his wife and eight children, Mrs. Catherine Bilson of Tempe, Ariz., Mrs. Margaret Sinnott of Washington, D.C., Mrs. P. M. Batten of Chicago, ILL., Sue Ciska of Melrose, Leo Ciska of Burlington, Martin F. Ciska, Jr. of Albia, John Ciska, serving in the navy and stationed in Hawaii and Mrs. McGrath.
Funeral services for Mr. Ciska will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s church, Melrose, conducted by the Rev. R.J. McGrath, pastor, and burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery. The body will be taken to the Ciska home in Melrose Friday afternoon where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday.
