Former Melrose Man is Victim of Auto Crash
J.P. Sullivan is Killed Early Friday in Illinois Wreck

Joseph P. Sullivan, 43, salesman for a Burlington wholesale grocery concern and formerly a resident of Melrose and Albia, died early Friday in a hospital at Macomb, Ill., from injuries received the night before in an automobile crash near Bushnell, Ill.

Dick Oglesby of Bushnell, who was riding with Sullivan when the car collided with a truckload of hogs was killed.

Funeral services are being held this morning in Burlington for Mr. Sullivan and burial will be at that place.

He is survived by his wife, of Burlington; his mother, Mrs. J.K. Knowles; two brothers, John L. Sullivan and Frank Sullivan, of Lovilia; a half-brother, M. F. Ciska, of Melrose; and three sisters, Mrs. D. M. Sheehan and Mrs. J.B. Wolf, of Melrose and Mrs. M.R. Donahue, of Ft. Pierre, So. Dak.

Mr. Sullivan was born and reared at Melrose. He also lived some time in Lovilia and Albia and is well known throughout the country. Exact details of the accident which resulted in his death have not been learned.

Joseph P. Sullivan Killed in Accident

Joseph P. Sullivan, age 43 years, resident of Burlington, traveling salesman for the Burt - Zaiser Grocery company, died Friday in a hospital at Macomb, ILL. following injuries received a few hours previous in an auto accident near Bushnell, ILL. His companion, Dick Oglesby, of Bushnell was killed outright.

Mr. Sullivan was a former resident of Lovilia and for some time operated the Sullivan Cafe.

He is survived by his wife, his mother at Melrose, half-brother John L. Sullivan of Lovilia, half-brother Frank Sullivan of California and one half-sister, Mrs. Mary Flahive of Knoxville and many other relatives.

Former Melrose Man is Victim of Auto Crash
J.P. Sullivan is Killed Early Friday in Illinois Wreck

Joseph P. Sullivan, 43, salesman for a Burlington wholesale grocery concern and formerly a resident of Melrose and Albia, died early Friday in a hospital at Macomb, Ill., from injuries received the night before in an automobile crash near Bushnell, Ill.
