Son of Alexander Russell McDonald and Susannah Wiltfong McDonald. He married Mary Lorena Rogers.

Arthur MacDonald, who has been one of Uncle Sam's sea fighters for the past six years, has returned home. The past year he has been confined to the hospital in San Francisco. He does not intend to return to the navy when his health is restored although eligible for reenlistment.

Arthur Green McDonald was born on the old farm 2 ½ miles east of Scio, January 31, 1873, where he spent most of his life until he was united in married to Miss Lorena Rodgers of Brownsville on October 31, 1892. To this union were born three children; Inez, Bernice and Arden. After the death of his wife, he spent most of the time in the U. S. Navy. He returned to the home of his parents in October, 1911, and after a long illness, died June 21, 1912 at the age of 39 years, 6 months and 18 days. He leaves his parents and children, beside many relatives to mourn his death.
