James recieved his education in Webster County where he was a lifelong resident. He served is country in the U.S Air Force during W.W.II. After his discharge from the military, he worked until his retirement in 1982 for U.S.Gypsum. In July 2005 he moved to Cassville to be with his daughter.
He is survived by a son, James E. Andrews of West Des Moines; a daughter, Peggy VanGorkom of Cassville, Mo.; a brother, Benjamin Andrews of Evanston, Ia; a sister, Elizabeth Grossnickle of Dayton, Ia.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
