LEHIGH-Amanda C. Rounds, 82, of Lehigh, Iowa, died Thursday morning, March 17, 2005, at Friendship Haven in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dayton. Rev. Bruce Lakamp will officiate. Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery in Lehigh, Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carson Funeral Home in Dayton.

Amanda Catherine Andrews was born on May 11, 1922, in Hamilton County, Iowa, the daughter of James and Bridgette (West) Andrews. She attended country school in Evanston and also Fort Dodge High. Amanda was united in marriage to Harry C. Rounds on July 16, 1940, in Bethany, Missouri. The couple farmed south of Lehigh for many years. In addition to farming Amanda worked for Ft. Dodge Tent and Awning Company during the war and for Larry Holbert at the Poultry Plant rural Dayton. Harry passed away on August 29, 1994. Amanda moved to Friendship Haven in March 1, 2005.

Amanda was a life member of the Fort Dodge V.F.W. Auxiliary Post # 1856. she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Dayton.

Survivors include her daughter, VaLora Kay and her husband Robert Timmons of Dubuque, Iowa; two brothers, James Andrews of Lehigh, Iowa, and Benjamin and his wife Shirley Andrews of Duncombe, Iowa; one sister and her husband, Elizabeth and Gene Grossnickle of Dayton, Iowa; a granddaughter, Victoria and her husband Charles Kotz of East Dubuque, Illinois; one great-granddaughter, Tabitha and her husband Eric Rolfe of East Dubuque, Illinois, one great great-granddaughter, Courtney Rolfe; and several nieces and nephews,. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry C. Rounds; and two sisters, Mary Pigman and
Virginia Grossnickle; and a brother William Andrews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the discretion of Amanda family.
