It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother, Sister Rachel "Toots" Black. Toots was born on August 9, 1927 in Blanding, Utah to Morley and Rachel Black. Toots was the youngest of thirteen children who all proceeded her in death. She went home to be with her father and heavenly family on January 28, 2015.

Toots resided in Blanding for most of her life. She was known for her kind heart, love of horses, love of her home and gardening and love of the Temple. She worked hard at the Four Corners Regional Care Center for several years and later resided there. She loved to play the drums to entertain the residents and staff.

Toots is survived by her sons Morley and his wife Martha Hense, Donald Hense, Rex Hense, and William and his wife Lydia Hense. She is also survived by her Grandchildren Morley, Michelle, Monica, Ben, Jose, Cora, Jordan, Tanya, Mike, Jennifer, Ryan, Corey, Kim, Shawn, Tony, Clark, Katie, Seth, Dirk, Meghan Cody, and 10 great grandchildren. We would like to especially mention her niece Patsy Shumway, who was always there for her and we really appreciated her love and support.

We would also like to thank the Four Corners Regional Care Center for taking care of her for the last few months of her life and to her Ward, family and friends of the Church of Latter Days Saints in Blanding.

The funeral will be held on Friday, February 6 at 1pm at Blanding LDS Stake Center

Visitation will be Friday, February 6 from 11-12:30pm at San Juan Mortuary

Internment will immediately follow the funeral at Blanding City Cemetery
