Rose "Rosie" Roed, 91, of Bismarck, ND, formerly of Minot, ND, died January 20, 2015, at the Baptist Health Care Center.

Cremation has taken place. A family service at the Baptist Health Care Center in Bismarck and burial, beside her husband, at Rosehill Memorial Park in the veterans section in Minot, ND, will take place in the spring.

Rosie was born in York, ND, on August 14, 1923, to Alfred and Anna Marie (Mueller) Wurgler. She was the youngest of her 13 siblings. She attended country school and shared in all the chores the family did. Rosie left home after her mother passed away to live with her sisters in Devils Lake, ND. Here is where she met her husband, Floyd "Dusty" Roed. They were married on July 20, 1945. They lived in Devils Lake, ND, and Big Bend, ND, before moving to Minot, ND, in 1951 where Dusty became a partner in Greengard Cranston Men's Store. Rosie worked retail all her life. She worked part-time at Ellison's Department Store and Dupaul's Jewelry while raising "her girls".

After Dusty passed away in 1999, she resided in Minot for a couple of years before relocating near her daughters in Bismarck. She has resided at the Baptist Health Care Center since December 2009.

Rosie was a friend to many; enjoying coffee at a moment's notice when called. She enjoyed bingo, day trips to the casino, crossword puzzles, playing whist, and embroidery. You could see Rosie and Dusty at the Minot Elks dancing often. She looked forward every year to making lefse for the Hostfest in Minot through Christ Lutheran Church, her home church. She was proud to say that her and Pastor Saathoff, her lefse making partner, were the best team making lefse every year.

Rosie was the most compassionate, caring, and giving, wife, mother, and friend. Mom, we will miss you dearly!

Rosie is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Warren Hintz, Lakeville, MN, and Kim and Rick Anthony, Bismarck, ND; her grandchildren, Chad (Michelle) Hintz, Lakeville, MN, Corey (Christa) Hintz, Lakeville, MN, Erik Anthony, Grand Forks, ND, and Cody Anthony, Texas; her great-grandchildren, Taylor, Sienna and Landon Hintz, Lakeville, MN, Lauren and Logan Hintz, Lakeville, MN, Isaak Anthony, Crary, ND, and Peyton Anthony, Grand Forks, ND; her sisters, Elsie Eide, Rugby, ND, and Marie Berg, Phoenix, AZ; her sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; eight brothers; and three sisters.
