The funeral for Edward Wurgler, 82, of York will be held Sat. at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren, rural York. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He died at his home March 23, 1990.

The Niewoehner Funeral Home of Rugby is in charge of arrangements.

Edward Wurgler was born April 11, 1907 in Eau Claire, Wisc., the son of Alfred & Marie Wurgler. He grew up in Twin Tree Township of Benson County, where he attended rural schools & farmed with his father. He married Emma Marie Nash Sept. 7, 1934 in York. They farmed in Knox Township of Benson County until 1971. He repaired radios & television sets. He was also a clockmaker & woodworker. He was Knox Township clerk for 39 years & served on the Knox elevator board. His wife died May 7, 1989.

Survivors include a son, Victor of York; a daughter, Mrs. William (Shirley) McDaniel of Creswell, Ore.; a grandchild; 4 brothers, Hugo, John & Otto of Rugby & Alfred of Knox; & 6 sisters, Mrs. Owen (Hannah) Wright of Blackfoot, Idaho, Mrs. Harold (Marie) Berg of Phoenix, Ariz., Wilma Loken of Cando, Mrs. Malvin (Elsie) Eide of York, Mrs. Floyd (Rosie) Roed of Minot & Mrs. Elmer (Ida) Hoime of Edmore.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Charles, Willie & Werner.
