A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday for Mary R. Oliveira, who passed away in Fortuna Oct. 14, 1984 at age 65. She was a resident of Fortuna.
A native of Ferndale, Mrs. Oliveira was a lifelong resident of Humboldt County.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Fortuna. She also was a member of the S.P.R.S.I. of Ferndale and the U.P.P.E.C. of Ferndale.
Mrs. Oliveira is survived by her son, Leonard Oliveira of Cottonwood; her daughter, Lorraine Holland of Eureka; her brother, Joaquin Martin of Ferndale; her sisters, Olivia Smith of Lone Pine, Aurora Ingersoll and Evelyn Chism, both of Fortuna; her grandchildren, Nichole and Christine Oliveira of Cottonwood and William Holland of Eureka; her step-grandchildren, Debbie Boone, Tom Holland, Cindy Holland and Robert Holland, all of San Jose.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Oliveira in 1978, and her sister Ruby Rasella.
Friends are invited to attend a Rosary service at Goble's Chapel in Fortuna at 7:30 P.M. Thursday. Friends also are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fortuna at 10 A.M. Friday. Serving as celebrants will be the Rev. Father Thomas Devereaux and the Rev. Father Sebastian.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery in Eureka.
Casketbearers will be Jerry Ingersoll, Allen Baird, Dennis Chism, Fred Oliveira, Harold Oliveira and John Silva.
Arrangements are under the direction of Goble's Chapel, Fortuna, where friends may call for visitation from noon to 5 P.M. today, and from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. and 6:30 to 8 P.M. Thursday.
