∼OBITUARY OF WILLIAM ALMA AVERETT
MOUNT PLEASANT, UT - William Alma AVERETT, 78, pioneer resident of this city, died Friday morning at the family home, 305 South Fourth East Street, from a heart attack. Mr. AVERETT had been in failing health the past eight years.
He was born in Mount Pleasant, June 02, 1863. His parents, Washington and Elizabeth Coates AVERETT, were among the settlers of this city.
He was married to Sarah Elizabeth LARTER, March 13, 1883, and they were the parents of nine children.
For many years, Mr. AVERETT was employed as timber receiver and night watchman for the Utah Fuel Company at Clear Creek. Later, he worked as a government trapper for the U. S. Biological Survey. He was a member of the Church, in the South Ward Elders Quorum.
Surviving are his widow and three sons: Alden AVERETT of Hemet, California; Royal J. and Lynn AVERETT of Mount Pleasant; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three brothers, John AVERETT of Emmett, Idaho; Frank AVERETT of Bowen, Idaho; and James AVERETT of Clear Creek.
Services will be conducted by Bishop Andrew L. Peterson at 2:00 p.m., Monday in the South Ward.
Friends may call at the family home Sunday evening and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to time of the Services.
Interment will be in the Mount Pleasant City Cemetery.
