∼CHARLES AVERETT PAID RESPECTS AT FUNERAL RITES
Funeral Services were held Monday afternoon in Mount Pleasant First-Fourth LDS Ward Chapel for Charles Lynn AVERETT, 62, who died of a heart ailment at his home September 16, 1965.
He was born July 05, 1903, in Mount Pleasant, a son of William A. and Sarah Larter AVERETT. He married Melba SMITH December 24, 1923, in Manti.
He was city marshal for fifteen years; worked as a government trapper, was a farmer and sheepherder. A member of the LDS Church he was merit badge counselor in the North Ward for several years. He was a member of the board of directors of the North Creek Irrigation Company and also water master.
Surviving are his widow; a daughter and a son, Mrs. Larry (Marilyn) WILSON, San Francisco; James Lynn AVERETT, Salt Lake City; three grandchildren and a brother, Royal J. AVERETT, Mount Pleasant.
The prayer at the mortuary was given by Joseph L. Lund; prelude and postlude music at the Chapel, Ethel Ericksen; invocation, Dr. Dail P. Averett; baritone solo, Gordon Brunger, accompanied by Ethel Ericksen; speaker, Joseph P. Olsen; organ solo, Ethel Ericksen; speaker, John S. McAllister; vocal duet, Eva Lay and Ray Beck, accompanied by Rhoda Drage; remarks, Lyman Weight, counselor in the First Ward Bishopric, who presided at the services; prayer, Jay Hafen.
Burial was in Mount Pleasant City Cemetery directed by Ursenbach Funeral Home. Que Seely dedicated the grave.
Pallbearers were Dick SMITH, Oliver SMITH, Don BROWN, Reverl ALLRED, Ed MONK and Larry WILSON.
