Mrs. Darlene Jane Hamblin Argabright, 76, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Belspring, VA on December 27, 1938 to the late Susie Jane Long Hamblin and Lloyd Clarence Hamblin. Mrs. Argabright was an active member of New Hope United Methodist Church where she served on many committees and taught Sunday School. She was a Registered Nurse and completed her training from Radford Community Hospital in Radford, VA in August of 1959. After working in Labor and Delivery, she devoted her life as a stay at home mom. Mrs. Argabright was active in many of her children’s activities and served as a leader in the Scouts and as a grade parent in school.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Argabright was preceded in death by four brothers: Calvin Eugene Hamblin, Alvin Edward Hamblin, Robert Daniel Hamblin, and Clarence Lloyd Hamblin, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Donald L. Argabright; two sons, Greg Argabright (Cindy) and Van Argabright (Hope); one daughter, Terri Keller (Lee); eight grandchildren: Kisha Absher (Dwayne), Kevin Argabright, Kari Argabright, Emily Argabright, Rachel Argabright, Aubrey Keller, Madeline Keller, and Sarah Keller; two great-grandchildren, Kyndal Absher and Kylie Absher.
A funeral service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 18 at New Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Suzanne G. Michael and Rev. William Currie officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
