Helen was united in marriage to L. Sanfrid "Fred" Peterson on October 19, 1937 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. The couple lived in Alexandria until 1940 when they moved to Minneapolis for a few years. They then returned to Alexandria and in 1958 moved to Osakis where Fred and Helen had a variety store. In 1973 Helen moved back to Alexandria where she resided until her death.
Mrs. Peterson was a member of the Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella and very active at St. Mary's Church.
Helen died March 26, 2001 at the Bethany Home. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Tesse (Margaret) Hedlund of Alexandria, several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was March 30, 2001 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Al Ludwig officiating. Pallbearers were Curt Larson, Mike Hammer, David Hammer, Jennifer Hammer and Warren Skrove. Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery. Services directed by Petermeier's Alexandria Funeral Care and Cremation Service.
