Lloyd Stines Sr. was born April 6, 1935, to Roy and Ellen (Widner) Stines of Correctionville. He was united in marriage to Arlene (Birtwell) Stines on Aug. 12, 1952, in Correctionville.

He farmed in Correctionville for many years, as well as delivered newspapers for 18 years. He also worked at Simonsens, milked cows and drove a milk truck for AMPI for several years. He moved to Arizona in 1984, where he worked at Payless Cashway. He later moved back to Correctionville.

Lloyd’s hobbies included fishing, playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

Lloyd is survived by his daughters, Geneva and husband Rich Pocock of Correctionville, and Vicki Steffens and special friend Dwayne Twite of Correctionville; sons, Rick Stines and wife Kathy of Cleghorn, Iowa, and Lloyd Stines Jr. and his special friend, Kathleen Rice of Quimby, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Pete Stines Sr. of Holstein, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlene; daughter, Toni Castaneda; grandson, Joshua Steffens; sister, Betty Broderson; brother, Harlan Van Valkingburg; and daughter-in-law, Julie Stines.
