PLEASE remember that an INSCRIPTION is something WRITTEN ON THE STONE. It is not something you found somewhere else or something near the stone.
I have been working on genealogy for about 45 years and my husband, Roy, and I are also working on a project to identify and photograph burial places of Civil War veterans in Iowa. He is the State Graves Registration Officer for the Iowa Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW). I have Virtual Cemetery of Civil War Veterans buried in Iowa which now has over 20,000 names. You can view it at: https://www.findagrave.com/virtual-cemetery/300768 but you will have to scroll through it to find the person you are looking for. At this point it is not searchable by name.
If you are a relative of someone I have posted a memorial for--that is NOT a relative of mine--I would be glad to transfer management to you. I do have a personal policy of NOT transferring memorials to anyone who is listed as Anonymous, though.
Please feel free to use my photos as you like, but I would appreciate photo credit if you use them on another website.
If you have a comment, question,or correction to any of my Memorials, please use the Edit on the Memorial page. It is much easier to find the correct person that way. Additions and corrections which are phrased rudely as demands may be ignored. If you do not have contact information or allow public messages, like gensekr, please do not send me corrections.
