A BIOGRAPHY OF SILAS ELMORE SHRIVER, by Larry Overmire (great nephew), Aug. 2008:

Silas Elmore (or Elmer) Shriver was born in Clear Creek Township, Ashland County, Ohio, on Sept. 24, 1853, the youngest of six sons of David and Rebecca (Scott) Shriver.

On July 9, 1885, at the age of 32, he married Ella Souter, the daughter of James and Margaret Souter. They had 4 children: Harriet Mae, William Frank, Jay Souter, and Margaret Rebecca.

Elmore was a farmer in Clear Creek Township, Ashland County, Ohio. He passed away on Oct. 9, 1930 at the age of 77 and is buried in Ashland Cemetery.
