Mr. Haven was born in Mt. Pleasant April 14, 1879, a son of Jacob and Lizetta Ott Hafen, Utah pioneers. He attended Snow college in Ephraim in 1901 and 1902. He was married to Matilda Remund in the Manti L.D.S. Temple January 2, 1935. He was an active worker and ward teacher in the L. D. S. church, a talented singer and a member of the North ward choir for 40 years.
Surviving are his widow and five sons and daughters; Mrs. Harold E. Frandsen, Orval, Pearl and Malben Hafen of Mt. Pleasant and Que Hafen of Salt Lake City; four grandchildren, and four sisters, Mrs. Hyrum Bramstead of Bray, Cal.; Mrs. John H. Hansen, Mrs. Herman Beck and Mrs. R. Bruce Seely of Mt. Pleasant.
