Mary was the daughter of Lawrence Lovelady Alfred & Maggie Phillips and the sister of Mae Alfred, Helen Alfred, Ruby Alfred, Mamie Alfred, Nellie Florine Alfred, Joyce Leverne Alfred, Jesse Lawrence Alfred, Bert Melvin Alfred, Betty Jean Alfred, Shirley Ann Alfred and Bonnie Sue Alfred. Mary married Robert Austin which ended in divorce. She then married John Thomas Patrick Dec. 5, 1942. They had five children: John Thomas Patrick, Jr., Ruby Carolyn Patrick, Maggie Ruth Patrick, Leonard Earl Patrick and Vernon Ray Patrick. After John's death, Mary married James Harold Oliver.
