Mrs. Nancy Prosser, Death in This City of One of the Oldest Residents, at the age of 94.

Mrs. Nancy Prosser, aged 94 years, widow of Solomon Prosser, died at her home, 316 N. Madison Street at 6 p.m. Friday. The deceased was one of the oldest residents of Rome and was the last of pass away of a family of eleven children born to Annin and Catherine Wiggins of Western. She was born Aug 31, 1807, and on Feb. 3, 1827, she was married to Solomon Prosser and with him removed to Leyden, Lewis County, where for seven years, he conducted a wagon making business. They came to Rome in 1840 and have since resided here. Mr. Prosser's death occurred March 16, 1877, at the age of 77 years. Eighteen years ago she lost her eyesight from paralysis of the optic nerves caused by too hard use of them. Mrs. Prosser suffered a stroke of paralysis on Dec. 2 which affected his left side, but she had somewhat recovered from that when the second stroke came Friday morning. It hastened the end, although her system was completely worn out by old age and its infirmities.
For about sixty years the deceased had been a faithful member of the Baptist Church of this city.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Eliza A Selden, formerly of Floyd, but who for the past five years has lived with and cared for her mother, also by two sons,
J. W. and D. W Prosser of Jamestown.
