According to the Wiggins family Bible, on file at Rome History Society, Elsie was one of 12 children, the youngest, born to Anning Wiggins and Catherine Woodworth, both originally of Newburgh, Orange Co., NY. They would move from Orange Co. to Saratoga Co. to Oneida Co. 1790-1801. Most of her siblings lived in Rome, 2 to Watertown, one to IN, one to Chautauqua Co.
