In Rial's father's 1851 Will, all children, except 2 that must have died as babes (named in family bible), are named, with married names. Rial would receive only $10 from his father's estate while the rest is divided equally between his siblings.
I cannot find 3 of Rial's married aunts (surnames Honeywell, Black, Crouch)
Obit:
"Rial Wiggins was born 6 Dec 1796 in Saratoga. He moved to Western, Oneida county when 2 years old (1798). He learned the wagon trade at Auburn, then settled in Floid (Floyd) Corners."
He appears on the 1820 census in Floyd, Oneida, NY (p. 185). Then he moved to Warsaw, Wyoming County, then to Rome, and finally to New Haven, Oswego County, where he died 20 Feb 1880 at the home of his brother, David, son, David Wiggins Jr. No mention in his obit of his daughter, Emma, had she died after the 1860 census?
census:
1850 Rome, NY: Rial, 53, is married to Lydia, 47, with them is 16yo George Ely (is he her son from previous marriage?), Rial and Lydia have dau. Emma, 6- all born NY.
1860 Rome: Rial, Lydia, George R. Ely, 26, Emma, 16
1870 Watertown, NY: Rial, 73, a wheelwright, and his 73yo sister-in-law (of bro. David) Jane Wiggins, live with her married daughter, Rial's 32yo niece, Diane (Alban, 32, a "shoe dealer") CHIDESTER, who have 1 son, Adelbert, 5.
1875 New Haven, Oswego Co, NY: living with married nephew David Wiggins,
Rial is the headstone to the far left in the photo of 4 headstones, next to sister Elsie HOUGH and their parents. Where is Lydia? Emma?
