NANCY HENDRICKS JONES (1820 - 1907) IS THE DAUGHTER OF OF JOHN 'JACK' HENDRICKS & ELMIRE JEMIMA BREWTON AND WIFE OF WILLIAM M. JONES.

Mother: ELMIRE 'JEMIMA' BREWTON HENDRICKS, b. 09 DEC 1795, Tattnall County, Georgia, d. 10 JUN 1876, Tattnall County, Georgia. Interred in the Brewton Cemetery, Hagan, Georgia.

Father: JOHN 'JACK' HENDRICKS (Veteran, War of 1812), b. About 1790 in Screven County, Georgia, d. 1837 from an accident at the Saw Mill owned by his father-in-law, Nathan Brewton, in Tattnall County, Georgia. Burial site unknown, however, believed to be interred in a now unmarked grave on the South Bank of the Canoochee River near where Cedar Creek runs into river.

Jones, son of Daniel Eastwood Jones and Susannah Miller.  Nancy Hendricks Jones is the mother of Martin Eastwood Jones and his 12 siblings.  Both Nancy and her husband, William M. Anderson, b. 02 Feb 1794 in SC and Elizabeth Lewis, b. 24 Sep 1794 in Franklin Co., GA. John and Harriett are interred side-by-side in Mount Plesant Cemetery, Waycross, Ware Co., GA.

2.Nancy Hendricks, b. 17 Feb 1820, d. 08 Aug 1907. Married William M. Jones. Twelve (12) known children from this marriage. Both Nancy and her husband are interred in a small privately owned cemetery named by the landowners as the THOMAS NEVIL CEMETERY, in Bulloch Co., GA.

3. Elizabeth “Betsy” Ann Hendricks, b. 18 Jun 1823, d. 09 Dec 1906. Married Seaborn Randolph Colson Hodges, b. 26 Apr 1816, d. 11 Oct 1899. On 'Betsy's" headstone 15 children are listed; Infant, George W., Susan J., James J., Nancy J., John H., Seaborn LaFayette, Berry H., Samuel E., Daniel A., Philip Bartow, Infant, Infant twins, and Elias. Both Elizabeth and her husband, Seaborn Randolph Colson Hodges, are buried side-by-side in Old Anderson Church Cemetery, Collins, Tattnall Co., GA. 4. Nathan Brewton Hendricks, b. 14 Apr 1825. d. UNKNOWN AT THIS TIME. Still searching for internment location.

5. Mary Hendricks, b. 1822, d. ? (death date is unknown - still searching). Note: In 1870 the US Federal Census finds Jemima Brewton Hendricks living with her daughter Mary Hendricks, in Tattnall County, Georgia. If anyone has more information concerning this daughter's (Mary Hendricks) life, place of burial, name of Mary's husband, if she was ever married, and names of children and birth/death dates, if any. There were two (2) 19 year-old teenagers living in the household when the 1870 US Census was taken (their names; Jefferson Hendricks and Henry Hendricks). 7. James J. Hendricks, b. 25 Oct 1829, d. Mar 1918, a CSA Veteran. Married 1st, Martha Blocker, birth and death date not known. One known child from this marriage is James A. Hendrix (1857-1890). He married 2nd, Nancy Hurst (1852-1920). Eight known children from this marriage. He is interred with his 2nd wife in Oak Grove Cemetery, Raybon, Brantley Co., GA.

8. Samuel Alexander Hendricks, b. 11 Aug 1832, d. 17 Oct 1930, married Rebecca S. Bennett, b. 13 Nov 1838, d. 24 Mar 1906. Both are interred in Brewton Cemetery, Hagan, Evans Co., Georgia.

9. Glenn Francis Hendricks, b. 27 Apr 1837, d. 23 Nov 1920, a CSA Veteran who received a severe thigh wound which affected his physical activity the remainder of this natural life. He married Nancy Kicklighter, b. 27 Feb 1839, d. 01 Oct 1930. Both are buried in Brewton Cemetery, Hagan, Evans Co., GA.

It is known by the family that Amy had a child prior to marring John Banks and this child, Ezekiel William Jones, b. 01 APR 1861, d. 02 DEC 1930, was raised as her sibling by her parents (See #13 below).

Married 3 times. Married 1st Mary 'Polly' Sumerlin on 27 APR 1981. b/ About 1956, d. Unknown. (2 children: William 'Billy' Jones, b. About 1874, d. After 1960 near Miami, Florida. They divorced. Married 2nd Sally 'Sallie' E. Lanier, b. 06 AUG 1847, d. 28 JAN 1897. 5 children from this marriage. (a) Calley D. Jones, (b) Norman Jones, ( c) Daniel Webster Jones, (d) Annie Elizabeth Jones, and (e) Mary Alice Jones. Married 3rd Ella J. Ennis, b. 03 FEB 1874, d. 30 APR 1942.
