I am a Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict (In theatre during 1966 through 1973) in the U. S, Air Force. My name is William Kenneth Bowen, great great grandson of Elisha Bowen and Penelope Everett; great grandson of John Hunter Bowen and Susannah Elizabeth Strickland; grandson of Alfred Jackson Bowen, I, and Ann Elizabeth (Annie Eliza) Williams; son of Alfred Jackson Bowen, II, and Ethel Marguerite Jones. A graduate of Georgia Southern University, General Business Degree, and retired Senior Master Sergeant (E-8) of the United States Air Force with 26 years, 4 months, 5 days active duty, and retired a second time from my Alma Mater, Georgia Southern University. Father of five children, 3 sons and 2 daughters. Married to Wealthy Bradley Bowen and live on the Old Martin Eastwood Jones Farm (my maternal grandfather's farm, which my father, A. J. Bowen, bought during the Depression, in the Fall of 1933). My Mother, Ethel Marguerite Jones, was born in the house I live in. The home was built in 1889 by my mother's father, a CSA Veteran, my maternal grandfather, Martin Eastwood Jones (1844-1925). There is a lot of family history here.

My family genealogy became very interesting to me after working with family members to finance a replacement monument for my Paternal great grandfather John Hunter Bowen, interred in the Bowen Dekle Family Cemetery in Candler County, Georgia during the period 2011 and 2012. Then, once again, my interest was further stimulated when on April 21, 2012, my extended family elected me to Chair a 3-member Monument Committee to do the tasks necessary to procure four fitting monuments for four of our ancestors (my paternal great great grandparents Elisha Bowen and Penelope Everett, originally of North Carolina, and their eldest son Robert Bowen, and; their infant granddaughter, Deborah Bowen, all interred in one 16-ft by 12-ft plot in the Bowen Dekle Family Cemetery, near Excelsior community, Candler County, Georgia). Sixteen months and ten days later, on August 28, 2013, these new monuments were placed and paid for thanks to the outstanding support of the descendants of my paternal great great grandparents, especially the help of my cousins, Julianne Temples Miller, a descendant of Silas Elisha Bowen (1815-1898), Ted Evan Lewis, a descendant of Deborah Bowen (1805-1866) and our family genealogist, Frances Caroline Dean McKinley (also a direct descendant of Silas Elisha Bowen (1815-1898). Without their work and continued support the task would have been much more difficult.

My Paternal and Maternal Family Lineage Sir Names Include: Bowen, Jones, Williams, Ennis, Strickland, Clanton, DeLoach, Frier, Hendricks, Brewton, Fontaine, Everett, Martin, Miller, Barker, Nessmith, Lee, McElveen, Campbell and others.
