Observations documented by this writer about this memorial biography is based on the verbal "story" passed down within the William M. Jones and Nancy Hendricks family, as related to me by Ezekiel William Jones' kinfolks.

Observation: The story passed down in the family is that Ezekiel Walter Jones is the illegitimate son of Amy Jones, daughter of William Mitchell Jones (1813 - 1877) and Nancy Hendricks (1820 - 1907) and was raised as a sibling of their children. The father's name is not known, for certain, and is being investigated further.

EZEKIEL WALTER JONES, B. 01 APR 1861, D. 02 DEC 1930, married Sarah Elizabeth Callaway, sister of Susan Callaway who married James Wesley Jones. Sarah Ann Callaway, b. 01 NOV 1860, d. 15 DEC 1944, is the youngest child of Elmore Callaway and Samantha Mariah Hodges (b. 08 MAY 1819, d. 27 JUN 1902). Both are interred in Old Anderson Baptist Church Cemetery, Old Anderson Church Road, Collins, Tattnall County, Georgia. They had seven children;

(1) Milton Lee Jones b. 22 AUG 1885, d. 05 SEP 1969. My father's youngest sister Lilly Bowen married Milledge C. Jones son of Milton Lee Jones - therefore my siblings and I are cousin to their children through my mother, Ethel Marguerite Jones, and my father, Alfred Jackson Bowen, Jr.
(2) Maxie Emma Jones (Byrd), b. 18 OCT 1887, d. 14 MAY 1986. Maxie was still alive when Judge Harry DeLoach's book about the DeLoach Family was published in 1975, She married Montique "Monty Cue" Byrd (1885 - 1975). She and her husband are interred in Old Anderson Church Cemetery, Collins, Tattnall County, Georgia.
(3) Raleigh R. Jones (An attorney for the Railroad, he moved to Dawson Georgia as a young man), Still searching for his burial location.
(4) Lula Jones (Married Henry Lindsey), b. 17 SEP 1892, d. 15 MAR 1960, burial location is being sought.
(5) Mary Addie Jones, b. 16 OCT 1894, d. 08 MAY 1976. Interred in Love's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Glennville, Tattnall County, Georgia. She was still alive when Judge Harry DeLoach's book about the DeLoach Family was published in 1975,
(6) Walter Elmore Jones, b. 27 NOV 1897, in Tattnall County, Georgia, d. 07 AUG 1988, in Bulloch County, Georgia. Married Annie Betty Hodges. Both are interred at Eastside Cemetery, Statesboro, Bulloch County, Georgia. He lived in Statesboro, Georgia. He was still alive when Judge Harry DeLoach's book about the DeLoach Family was published in 1975 in which his middle name was listed erroneously as EZEKIEL instead of ELMORE.
(7) Loren Wright Jones. b. 25 DEC 1900, d. 28 DEC 1913. Died as a minor, at age 13 years.
