Leonard A. Pethan, 53, of Route 2, Chilton died unexpectedly Friday, December 19, at Calumet Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 12, 1927, in the town of New Holstein, a son of the late George and Margaret Daun Pethan. He married Delores Breckheimer Sept. 3, 1949 at Stockbridge.
Mr. Pethan farmed in the town of New Holstein and was owner and operator of Pethan and Pethan Livestock Trucking Co. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church at Charlesburg and the Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his wife; five daughters, Mrs. James (Germaine) Schwaller of Appleton, Jeanne Pethan of Milwaukee, Mrs. John (Janice) Dieringer of Campbellsport, Mrs. David (Vicky) Ramminger of New Holstein and Pearl Pethan of San Diego, Calif; a son, Jerome of rural Chilton; three grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Marie Meyers, Mrs. Gregor Propson, Mrs. Marvin Ecker, all of rural Chilton, and Mrs. Roland Gruber of Hilbert; and a brother, Henry of Chilton.

One brother preceded him in death.

The funeral Mass was at St. Charles Catholic Church, in Charlesburg. The Rev. William Eberhardy, pastor the celebrant. Burial was in the parish Cemetery.
