Lawrence B. Blackston, 72, of Hudson Road, Rt 4, Greer, died Tuesday.
Born in Pickens county, son of the late William Andrew and Crisie Hudson Blackston, he was a retired farmer and was a member of Concord Baptist Church, Pickens, and attended the Church of God of Prophecy.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Pearl G. Blackston; six daughters, Mrs. Frances Cobb of Pendleton, Mrs. Beatrice Brown of Greenville, Mrs. Bessie Lee Hamilton of Mt. Jewett, Penn, Mrs. Macie Armonaitis of Greer, Mrs. Rachel Secrist of Ft. Myers, Fla. and Miss Betty Joe Blackston of Travelers Restr; three sons, William B. Blackston and Melvin C. Blackston of Greenville, and S/Sgt Joseph D. Blackston, serving with the US Army in Korea; a sister, Miss Dollie Blackston of Pickens, 24 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Thomas McAfee Funeral Home.
