DEATH OF MRS. ROBERT YANCEY WEDNESDAY
-FUNERAL SERVICES AT POWELL CHURCH FRIDAY FOR 89-YEAR-OLD WOMAN
Susan Armilda Powell, daughter of Charles and Sarah Powell, was born in Elizaville, Boone County, Indiana, Feb. 21, 1861. She departed this life June 7, 1950 at the age of 89 years, 3 months and 17 days. She came to Missouri when eight years of age and spent the remainder of her life in this community.
On Dec. 22, 1882 she was united in marriage to Robert L. Yancey. To this union four children were born, Mrs. Lee Joseph of Brunswick, Jesse Yancey of Garden City, Missouri, Mrs. Ruby Ringer of Mendon, and Mrs. Lewis Wheeler, who preceded her in death. One granddaughter also preceded her in death.
Early in life she became a member of the Powell Christian Church.
She leaves to mourn her passing her aged husband, her three children, two granddaughters, two great-grandsons; one brother, C.W. Powell of St. Charles, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the Powell Christian Church Friday morning. Interment was in the church cemetery.
