Mrs. Hannah Tjaden, 84, of Benson, died about noon Wednesday at a Sycamore, Ill., hospital where she had been a patient one month. She had become ill while visiting a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Kelsey at Genoa.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at St Paul's Lutheran church in Benson, with the Rev. Clarence Gess officiating. Burial will be in Clayton cemetery. Friends may call at the Wilcox-Folkers Memorial Home in Benson after 4 p.m. Friday. The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday where friends may call up to the time of service.

She was born July 1, 1879 [incorrect - she was born 2 July 1884], two and one half miles north of Roanoke, the daughter of John and Anna Woltzen [incorrect - her parents were Albert and Bernhardina Saathoff Woltzen]. She married Harm Tjaden in 1900 and he passed away in August of 1958.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Fanny Hansen, Streator, Mrs. Kelsey of Genoa; three sons, Edward, Minonk; Louis, Hudson; and Lester of Benson; one sister, Mrs. Heimke Moritz of Pontiac, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Six sisters and five brothers preceded her in death.
