Edith Jessop Allred Revered Matriarch, Pioneer and Saint

Edith Jessop Allred passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 at her home from complications of a prolonged illness at the age of 83. She was born the eighth child of Joseph Lyman Jessop and Winnie Porter Jessop in Salt Lake City on January 12, 1931. She graduated valedictorian of Granite High School in 1949 and married Marvin Laddie Allred on March 19, 1950. She was one of the first residents of Rocky Ridge in Juab County, Utah, and lived in the original house her family built for her there from 1972 until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter Martha. Surviving children are: Leslie Allred, Barbara Gold, Lorraine Bronson, Louise Gold, Darleen Gold, Don Allred, Vonda Jenson, Robert Allred, Angela Munn, and Steven Allred, grandchildren and great grandchildren number in the hundreds, and myriads more are willing to claim her as their mother, grandmother or mentor. Talented, witty, and knowledgeable, she loved others passionately at their level, as well as having a deep love and testimony of the restored gospel. Services in her memory will be held at the Rocky Ridge chapel on Sunday, May 25th, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. with viewing time allowed from 11:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. on the same day.www.andersonfh1866.com
