Obituary - Grace Heaps Baker, 92, Teasdale, died Aug. 3, 1988, in Mayfield care center.

She was born Nov. 23, 1895, Escalante, to Thomas Heber and Susan Alvey Heaps. She was married to Ralph Ramsay Baker, March 9, 1914, Escalante. Later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died Aug 7, 1971.

She was active in the LDS Church, serving as Teasdale Ward and Wayne Stake Relief Society president. She was a 4-H leader in Wayne County and received a 25 year service pin. She was talented in handiwork and quilting. She was active in the Democratic Party.

Survivors: sons, daughter, Alfred, Teasdale; Heaps, Salina; Dale, Sandy; Stanley, Murray; Garth, Rupert, Ida.; Mrs. Van (Erma) Kelley, Gunnison; 30 grandchildren; 92 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a niece whom she reared, Mrs. Reed (Elnora) Williams, Spanish Fork.

Funeral services were Saturday in the Teasdale LDS Ward Cultural Hall with Bishop Roe Stephenson, officiating. Alfred Baker offered the family prayer; Lorna C. Brown played prelude and postlude music and Van Kelley offered the invocation. Linda B. Brown gave a tribute and speakers were Dorothy B. Fowles and Dwight Williams with remarks by Bishop Stephenson.

Music included vocal duet by Veola W. Clark and Janee C. Blackburn and vocal solo by Dennis Moser. Philip Baker offered the benediction.

Interment was in the Teasdale Cemetery by Springer/Turner Funeral Home, Richfield, where Reed Williams offered the dedicatory prayer. Pallbearers were Blaine Kelley, Milton Baker, Heber Baker, McKay Baker, Shyrel Baker, Ronald Williams, Junior Baker and Scott Baker. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons.
