Teasdale, Utah - Our kind and beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Dale Baker, age 85, died March 11, 2014 at his home in Teasdale. He was born March 4, 1929 in Teasdale, a son of Ralph Ramsay and Grace Heaps Baker.

He graduated from Wayne High School, Class of 1947. He attended Utah Trade Tech in Salt Lake City. Dale married the love of his life, Viola Potter, January 5, 1950 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple February 24, 1954.

Dale served faithfully as a Home Teacher, through visits and other acts of service that lifted and encouraged those he cared for.

Dale was a mechanic for Kennecott Copper Corp. for over 25 years before retiring. He served as the Irrigation Water Master in Sandy, Utah for several years. Dale has carried mail on a rural route for the Postal Service, servicing the town of Grover, Utah. He was President of the Cemetery Committee in Teasdale, which also included displaying flags on the graves of Veteran for certain National holidays. Dale drove the bus for the Wayne County Senior Citizens for over 10 years.

Dale thoroughly loved gardening and would share the fruits and vegetables he grew with family and friends. He took pleasure in eating the vegetables he grew, especially the corn. He loved being outdoors; hauling wood for the winters and four-wheeling in the summers. He enjoyed helping his wife, Viola, with her quilting projects. He was always busy helping others and would stop and chat with anyone who would listen. Dale would putter in the garage, fixing items around the house. He served neighbors and friends in various ways, cheering others with his easy smile. Dale, you will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Viola; of Teasdale; his children: Charmaine Baker of Providence, Utah; McKay and Tamara Baker of Farr West, Utah; Mary Shewell of Renton, Washington; Kelly Baker of Murray, Utah; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister: Stanley and Reah Baker of Murray, Utah; Garth Baker of Paul, Idaho; and Elnora Williams of Payson, Utah.
