DEATH FROM ACCIDENT
On Sunday morning, about eight o'clock, Mrs. Hans Timm passed away at her home on North Madison Street at the age of 48 years, 9 months and 21 days.
Mrs. Timm's death was the result of an accident which befell her on the 28th of June last. She had gone to the railroad station to take the morning passenger train south and while crossing the track was struck by a through freight train which threw her some twelve feet, fracturing her left wrist and injuring her internally. After the accident she was taken to her home where she was attended by her family physician and the fracture was reduced. She was getting along as well as could be expected and none of the members of her family thought that the injuries would prove fatal. Saturday night she slept well and Sunday morning between seven and eight o'clock ate her breakfast. After the meal she was helped from the bed and shortly afterwards without warning expired. Her death was a severe shock to her family, relatives and the community.
Ida Thede was born in the town of New Holstein, Sept. 11, 1858 and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Juergen Thede. In 1879 she was married to Hans Timm and in 1888 they came to Chilton and purchased the Andrew Crawford farm in the northern section of this city. Some four years ago her husband died and since that she has conducted the farm with the aid of her two sons. She was a woman of good business ability, kind hearted and generous to a fault and her home life was worthy of emulation.
This summer she was having the place remodeled and when completed she would have had an ideal home. All this was changed by the unfortunate accident which caused her death and the once happy home is now one of sorrow.
The funeral took place on Tuesday and was conducted by Rev. W. A. Arpke, pastor of the Ebeneezer church. She leaves two sons, George and William and three daughters, Mrs. Emma Albert of Kiel, Miss Louise Thiel of Potter and Miss Helen of this city, besides numerous other relatives to mourn her untimely death.
