Hans Nicholas Timm Chilton Times January 3, 1903

Our citizens were deeply grieved on Monday when they learned that Hans Timm, one of our leading citizens had died at six o'clock on that morning. Mr. Timm has been sick since early last spring and had employed the best of medical aid but could get no relief. On Dec. 23rd an operation was performed with the expectation that it might benefit him or cure him permanently and for a day or two after the operation he seemed to rally, but he again began to decline and death came and relieved him of his sufferings.
Hans Nicholas Timm was 51 years, 2 months and 14 days of age. He was born at Meldorf, Holstein, Germany, Oct. 16, 1851. At the age of 13 years he came to America with his parents and located at Chicago, where they remained a short time and then moved to New Holstein. In 1878 Mr. Timm was united in marriage to Miss Ida Thede, and moved onto a farm in the town of Stockbridge. Later they moved to Chilton town and in 1888 purchased the Andrew Crawford farm in this city and moved onto the same. Mr. Timm was a hardworking, thrifty farmer and made a success of whatever he undertook. About 18 months ago he purchased his brother's farm adjacent to his own, which gave him 160 acres and he was in comfortable circumstances. He was held in high esteem by his fellowmen and in 1900 was a member of the board of aldermen of this city.
His funeral took place on Wednesday from the family residence. The services were conducted by Rev. W. A Arpke of the Ebenezer Reformed church and were largely attended by relatives and friends. A widow, two sons, three daughters, mother, brother and two sisters mourn his death.
