He married Sarah Arnold March 25, 1793 in Mercer County, Kentucky. We have a copy of their marriage.

To this union ten children were born Jacob, Hugh, James, Abraham, Samuel, John, Sarah, Mary Ann, William and Clarissa.

In 1963 my grandmother photographed pieces of William Sportsmans broken cemetery stone. We were there in 2006 and found nothing. We did get a copy of his probate record.
