Abraham Sportsman was the son of William & Sarah (Arnold) Sportsman. He married Letitia Ashby, she was the daughter of Henry & Judith (Shumate) Ashby. To this union nine children were born Jennette, William, Andrew, Tabitha, James, Cassandra, Thomas, Susan and Mary Ann. Written by Annie Marsh 9/11/2018.

Will written March 22, 1873 naming all his children, but James and William who have died, but found on the 1850 census. Abraham named his son Thomas executor.
