One researcher listed her death as 1921 and apparently confused her with another Martha Isbell who died Mar. 21, 1921 in Leeds, Jefferson County, Alabama.

Pat Brown lists her nickname as Jenny and birthplace as Georgia, while some show Alabama. The 1900 and 1930 censuses say she was born in Georgia while the 1880, 1910-20 say AL. Her family moved from Georgia to Alabama when she was young.
From John Mallory Land (#46870015): "Her father Burrell LEE heads a household on the 1850 census of Georgia Militia District #787 (Halloca District) in Muscogee County, Georgia. Pursuant to an act of the Georgia legislature on 13 FEB 1854, this part of Muscogee became Chattahoochee County, Georgia. Following the death of his first wife Mahala NELSON, Burrell married in 1856 in Chattahoochee to Nancy PATE. In 1860, the family - including daughter Loujene or Lougine, aged 2 years - appears in the same district, now in Chattahoochee County."
