He was a member of St, Mary Catholic Church and Olivedale Senior Citizens. He was a retired employee of Anchor Hocking, where he worked for 47 years.

He is survived by his brother, Patrick Powers of Lancaster, eight sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen Powers, Mary Hauser, Dorothy and Ray Schleich, Pauline and Russ Brown, and Margaret and Robert McGee, all of Lancaster; Josephine and Robert Feigley of Columbus, Martha Jane and Richard Hammond of Youngstown, and Roseann anti Pete Hoffman of San Diego, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents Patrick and Ida Mae Powers; and one sister, Ruth E. Shaw; died previously.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Father William A. Dunn officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call at Sheridan Funeral Home from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, where a Vigil service will be at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a Rosary service at 8:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
