Roland was my Great Uncle. He died before I was born. He was the 3rd child born to Hardin and Emma Defreece. He had eight siblings, my Grandmother Ethel being one of them. Roland was a quiet man. Roland's first wife was Sally Campbell who died young with the flu when their children were very young, the little girl Blanche was only abt 1yrs old, and their son Clarence was abt 8yrs old when their mother died. Those were the only biological children Roland had. Roland was a retired Guard from the Tennessee Eastman Company.
