Per Helen Richardson, her grandmother Laura Defreece married Emanual Lafayette Shankle. They had four girls and one boy, they raised their children in Sullivan County TN, and that is where Laura and her husband remained until they died..

Per Helen, Laura had several pregnancies that were either still born, or died right after birth. She was not sure how many pregnancies Laura had altogether, but it was a lot more then 5. .

Laura had a bad heart and she died of a heart attack..

Per Helen, Laura started to live with her daughter Ola in 1956 after her husband died. But she would sometimes go back to live at her own house for short periods of time, or go live with her son Clarence, Ola and Clarence would give each other breaks from taking care of their mother..

According to Lois Etchey Corwin (Laura's niece) Laura and her husband's house was located on top of Cherry Hill in Kingsport TN..

I have an abundance of pictures of Laura when she was older, because her daughter Ola would mail pictures of Laura to her sister Ethel which was my grandmother. But I have only one photo of when she was young..

Per Laura's grandson Estill Vanhuss - Laura and Fayette had a child that died young, he did not know the birth date or death date or how old the child was, but Fayette would play the Banjo for this child and it just loved to hear it, and when this child died, Fayette put up the Banjo and never played it again.
