Norman Charles Emm, 89, formerly of Fornof Manor in Streator, died at 1:45 a.m. Friday (June 3, 2005) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Streator.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Elias Funeral Home in Streator followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Mark Upchurch of the Central Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Streator.
He was a son of Charles and Dorthea (Downer) Emm. He married Goldie Robinson who passed away April 11, 2002.
He is survived by two sons: Lawrence D. (Patricia) Emm and Philip (Kay) Emm both of Streator; four daughters: Norma (Robert) Wright, Sharon (Jack) Berckemeyer, and Patricia Goodrich, all of Streator, and Linda (Donald) Rapson of Cornell; one stepdaughter: Betty Treeter; three sisters: Dorothy Swital of Streator, Hazel Rosenaw of Faulkton SD, and Evelyn (Charles ) Reedy of Yrcka, CA; 24 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 32 step-great-grandchildren; and five step-great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews; and a friend: Evelyn Small.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Goldie Emm; a son: Donald Emm; daughters: Charlotte Michael and Karen Shepard; brothers: Harvey and Richard Emm; a sister: Maxine Bennett; a grandson; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; and a son-in-law: Raymond C. Goodrich.
He was a bartender in the Chicago area and Streator for many years.
He was a member of Central Church of Christ, Streator Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #645, a former member of the Moose Lodge in Chicago and the Streator Polish National Alliance Group #433.
